City wants charges against developer after trees felled

image-14City hall has begun to take legal action against an unnamed developer for allegedly taking down trees without a permit at a Yonge and Lawrence area development site. Ward 16 councillor Karen Stintz says the city is now collecting evidence to build its case against the developer, who is accused of bringing in contractors on Feb. 1 to remove trees from the property. The site where the former Fifth Church of Christ Scientist building was razed in December was being prepared for a six-storey, 114-unit condominium. Click here to read more.
