Changes for Eglinton Park Spark Uproar With Local Sports Clubs
A new Midtown Planning Group’s proposed redesign for Toronto’s Eglinton Park has upset some local sports teams. Some of the suggested changes include removing one of the baseball diamonds, and relocating the North Toronto Memorial Arena. Click here to read more.
Construction Is Progressing For Condos On St. Clair
The construction is progressing for the Imperial Plaza Condominiums on St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto, Ont. The building will be equipped with a media room, sound studio, two squash courts, fitness facilities, a multi-purpose games room and a pool. Click Here to read more.
Comic Artists Get Sketchy At North Toronto Shop
Toronto comic artist Marcus To (known DC Comics’ Batwing and Red Robin) and colourist Ian Herring worked together on the new graphic novel Hacktivist, which was created by actress Alyssa Milano. The two were in Midtown Toronto’s Paradise Comics to promote the novel and meet fans on Jan 22.
Eglinton Crosstown Work Set To Start
The Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction is about to hit Leaside. Excavation for the tunnel boring machines will begin early this month. This will include tree removal, construction staging for the launch shaft, widening of Eglinton Avenue East, installation of construction fencing and barriers, and the relocation of utilities and street lights. Fire Destroys Heritage Building In Yorkville
Dozens of firefighters arrived to extinguish a fire throughout the heritage building at 84 Yorkville Ave in Midtown Toronto on January 22. The fire began on the second floor but took hold of the entire building due to the 100 year old wooden frame of the structure. Even though the building is destroyed, the rest of the area has barely been affected by the incident, with very little smoke or water damage in the buildings close by. Read more here.
Where To Go For Winterlicious In Midtown
For those of you that do not know about Winterlicious, it is an annual event where people can explore a wide variety of menus at upscale restaurants in Toronto, for a very discounted fixed price for a full 3-course lunch or dinner.
